


Michael Fowle is an accomplished director with a passion for bold storytelling, collaborative creation, and community-focused theatre.

After earning his B.A. in Applied and Contemporary Theatre from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, Michael co-founded a comedy collective where he produced and directed a series of original, well-received shows. His festival directing credits include the acclaimed productions Broken for the Short & Sweet Festival and Sweat of the Earth for the 2high Festival.

Now based in Washington, D.C., Michael has spent the past several years producing and directing independent work in the local theatre community. He also served as Executive Artistic Director of Lopez Studios, Inc. for over five years, where he directed more than ten mainstage productions and led a vibrant performing arts education program.

As a director, Michael is committed to creating work that is collaborative, dynamic, and rooted in exploration. He believes theatre should challenge, inspire, and connect—and he thrives in creative spaces where artists come together to push boundaries and grow together.
