
Michael Fowle

Michael Fowle is a multifaceted theatre artist with a passion for performance, direction, and education. With over two decades of experience on both sides of the stage, Michael brings depth, energy, and a collaborative spirit to every project he takes on.
​
He began acting professionally at young age, performing in commercials, print ads, indie films, and on stages throughout Washington, D.C. As a young adult Michael spent 10 years in Australia, continuing his training with leading institutions such as the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), Playlab, and La Boite Theatre Company. He later earned a B.A. in Applied and Contemporary Theatre from Griffith University in Brisbane, where he studied a wide range of acting and theatrical methodologies including Stanislavski, Meisner, Boal, Brecht, and more.

As an actor, Michael has appeared in stage productions across Australia and the U.S., and on screen in projects including San Andreas, Unbroken, and Showtime’s Homeland. As a director, he has helmed acclaimed productions for a variety of festivals including Short & Sweet Festival and 2high Festival. Michael has also been deeply involved in the Washington, D.C. theatre community for several years, producing and directing independent work that centers collaboration, bold storytelling, and community impact.
In addition to his artistic work, Michael is a dedicated educator and leader. As the former Executive Director of Lopez Studios Performing Arts School, he designed and led theatre education programs, directed main stage productions, and cultivated a creative environment that prioritized growth, ensemble, and excellence.

Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the classroom, Michael is committed to creating meaningful, challenging, and inclusive work. He believes deeply in the power of theatre to spark dialogue, build empathy, and help people discover their voice—both artistically and personally.
